There are few things more critical to the future of our nation than the ability to defend and protect it against all foes.  The Blue Star Banner Program’s goal is to recognize and honor our military men and women and acknowledge their service and accomplishments and the important contributions made by them and their families.

In these days of social distancing, non-military individuals are gaining a better understanding of our service members being separated from beloved family members and friends.  They are better able to relate to the sacrifices of missed holidays, birthdays, weddings, funerals, family reunions, and other events that are all too common for our service members.   We are privileged to honor these men and women who defend our country, so we don’t have to.

The Crystal Lake Blue Star Banner program, which began in 2017, strengthens, supports, and seeks to enhance patriotism throughout the City of Crystal Lake by honoring local men and women currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Those interested in learning more about the program or wish to nominate an active-duty service member or provide support, are welcome to visit the Nominations page.
