The Blue Star Banner Program began a second “Borrowed Banners” project when we gave local businesses the opportunity to display banners belonging to some of our previous recipients. This is a continuing effort to increase our program’s visibility and have a larger number of citizens aware of our program. Our first such project was a success and many families submitted nomination forms for their active duty service members. City residents enjoyed seeing the banners and were grateful to have a chance to talk about them and express their appreciation for the service to our nation by these individuals.
We are deeply grateful to Taste of Benedict’s, Firebar, Country Donuts, Rookie’s, Village Squire, Labemi’s, Tony’s, Crystal Lake Public Library, Julie Ann’s and FastSigns for proudly and prominently displaying Blue Star Banners belonging to some of our Heroes.
